McFlurry Madness!

Ooh. I am SO angry right now.

As you may remember from a previous rant, I loves me a McFlurry.

I had a shitty day today. Work was... alright, until after lunch. I had some pretty intense chest tightness... long story short, afternoon at the doctor's surgery, ECG, blood tests... I'm fine, but boy am I tired tonight.

I just had to pop down to the supermarket for a couple of things, and I thought that I'd spoil myself on the way home with a McFlurry. Here's where the anger starts.

I roll up to the drive thru window and am handed this:

When really, it shoulda looked more like this:

Oh my god, I can't believe I'm ranting on the internet about ice cream. Anyway. Let me move on.

THEY DON'T MIX THE McFLURRIES WITH A WHIZZY THING ANYMORE.

I asked them why they hadn't whizzed my McFlurry, and the girl said to me that they never had. She didn't appear to know what I was talking about. I put this down to WHAT THE HELL, I CALL BULLSHIT and asked for my $3.60 back, thanks very much.

On a crusade now, I zoomed down to the next McDonalds, 3 minutes down the road. Again, I ordered a McFlurry. This time I asked the dude if they whizzed them still, and HE SAID NO. Apparently, people complained about the whizzing!

Here's the thing. In my book, if it's whizzed, it's a McFlurry. If it's ice cream with whole M&M's on top, it's ice cream with whole M&M's on top. And that does not cut it with me.

Right. Rant over. No more McFlurries for me, and that makes me sad. Please tell me this is not the case world wide? Cos if it is, I haz a sad.

I'll just slink off to bed with my antacids now and pipe down. Boo hoo.

  1. I don't think I've ever had a McFlurry so I have no clue.

Is it something you can replicate with a blender?

  2. Now I want a McFlurry! I live in the kingdom of McDonalds. The corporate head quarters is a bit down the road from me. And Hamburger University (I kid you not, I worked across the street from it's "campus"). Should I complain to them on your behalf?

I will get a McFlurry (maybe later today as it is only 9 am right now) and update you on it's blendedness.

  3. Get a Dairy Queen over there and get a Blizzard!

Sorry for the ice cream woes.

AND I am soooooo glad that you are ok.

  5. Say whut?

Soz, babe, but I just cannot comment on the whizziness of McFlurries in the United Kingdom. Maybe I should ask MrCC? Or the #Things? But me? Meh, no. Soz.

    I don't do sweet stuff.

I resolve to report back to you ASAP once I know the outcome. In the meantime - guess you're gonna have to resort to your blender :-(

  6. Oh noes! I don't know the answer to your question, as I don't go to McDonald's very often. But next time I do, I will ask them about the whizzing! (Of the McFlurry, of course.)

I'm sorry they didn't have what you wanted - everyone deserves a treat after a bad day and it's so disappointing when you can't get what you want. :( (((((hugs)))))

  7. It sucks when something you have come to really like/enjoy is no longer available. I've had that happen to me before though I can't think of a specific example right now.

I had the same thought as DD--get the blizzard from Dairy Queen. There are more flavor options. (If you have Dairy Queens. Do you?)

Wendys had something similar once that we ordered and they gave you a little packet of crushed candy that you were supposed to sprinkle on top of your ice cream. That was cheesy. :)

  8. They used to do it in the UK but not any more - means they can serve customers faster when I asked why they no longer did it!
